Are you tired of unreliable internet? You’re not alone. Many Filipinos struggle to find a stable connection, and I’m one of them.

Getting fiber internet wasn’t an option for me because I lived too far from the nearest fiber connection point. I tried several broadband providers, but none gave me the experience I wanted.

That changed when I discovered Starlink. After hearing positive reviews, I decided to give it a try despite the expensive kit and monthly subscription.

My kit arrived about a week later, and I couldn’t wait to test it. After years of using Starlink, here are my biggest takeaways.

1. Reliable Connection

Starlink has been more reliable than my previous broadband connections. I can stream movies, join video calls, and play games with fewer connection issues.

Packet loss still happens occasionally, but in my experience, it’s less of a problem than it was with my previous providers.

2. Generous Data Usage

As a heavy internet user, I appreciate Starlink’s generous data allowance. My monthly usage is around 2–3 TB, while some users in the community report using 10–20 TB.

If you regularly download large files or stream content, this can be a big advantage. Just remember that data policies depend on your plan and location.

3. Better Gaming Performance

Starlink has also improved my online gaming experience. My latency typically ranges from 30–90 ms, compared with 80–250 ms from my previous broadband providers.

Performance varies depending on your location and network conditions, but the difference has been noticeable for me.

These are the main reasons I’ve continued using Starlink. In the next part, I’ll share its downsides and whether I think it’s worth the cost.
